About God in the City
Christian City Church, God in the City is a young and vibrant church located in the heart of Darlinghurst. When God in the City began its services 6 years ago, Pastor Tim and Kirrily Lowe, noticed many members were young artists and designers. With a vision to connect and see their lives flourish, the Propeller art exhibition was born. It became a space for their gifts to be nurtured and the dreams propelled. Propeller has now grown to be one of Sydney's most popular and innovative exhibitions.
What is Propeller?
Propeller is a volunteer, community based initiative of Christian City Church "God In The City". The vision of propeller is to connect and propel emerging creative talent. Propeller provides a place of expression, inspiration and connection for artists and helps develop the unique talent and creativity within our church and the local community.
Each year God in the City presents the Art and Design Award, Fashion Show and Short Film Award, giving Sydney's emerging artists the opportunity to display their work to the public and industry professionals at a grass roots level The Short Film Award
This year God in the City proudly takes Propeller into the most powerful medium of art today - film, by launching it's first Short film Award in February 2006. Film has the ability to capture the heart of culture; its influence is almost unrivalled - the messages it communicates today will shape the ideas and values of generations to come.
God in the City want to encourage budding film makers by giving them an opportunity to broadcast their creative inspiration to the public. The night will showcase an inspiring collection of the hottest short films from all over the state. All are welcome to enter. Prizes will be awarded on the final night by a panel of industry experts. |
